Patient Advocate

A fast-paced, physician-owned specialty practice on the south side of Indianapolis, is looking for a full time Patient Advocate to work M-F. This position is primarily responsible for checking out patients after their office appointments. This involves scheduling necessary follow up visits, procedures or ancillary testing and collecting any outstanding balances the patients may have. This person must communicate all discharge instructions to the patients and explain procedure preps as necessary. The Patient Advocate also meets with patients who walk in to the office with specific needs. This person must maintain current knowledge of insurance and facility policies on where patients can be scheduled based on their insurance plans. This person must possess at least a high school diploma or GED and have prior medical office experience. This person must be able to work well under pressure and possess excellent customer service skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
