Summary:
The Manager, Alternator Product Engineering provides daily supervisory leadership, efficient management, and creative problem solving, to plan, organize and direct the HQ Alternator PDRE operations for Remy International. They will initiate plans and processes which minimize engineering costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital. The Manager, Alternator Product Engineering assures attainment of programs and engineering schedules while insuring high quality standards.
Job Duties:
o Staffs and oversees the activities of Alternator PDRE team members.
o Accountable for on-time performance reviews and ongoing performance feedback for team members.
o Maintains positive
employee
relations and a safe work environment.
o Plans, supervises, coordinates and directs the efforts of the PDRE team.
o Interfaces strongly with the Engineering Design
supervisor
.
o Interfaces strongly with Regional Engineering Managers and Regional Design Supervisors when necessary.
o Ensures timely response to customer needs.
o Assists in development of short and long term strategic plans then drives the execution of those plans.
o Assists in managing department budget and program time schedules.
o Develops a knowledge of and establishes a working relationship with all internal and external customers.
o Directs projects in a cost conscious and efficient manner.
Job Requirements & Skills:
o Minimum 8 years experience required in engineering and/or manufacturing.
o Leadership/management experience is required with alternator product engineering experience preferred.
o Experience in engineering in a manufacturing industry is required.
o Bachelors degree in engineering is required.
o Understanding of how engineering interrelates with other functions in the organization.
o Strong knowledge base of engineering theories related to designated engineering function.
o Ability to apply skills and knowledge to a variety of complex tasks and situations.
o Advanced knowledge of company products, as well as plant processes and procedures--shares this knowledge with others.
o Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
o Advanced analytical, technical, and statistical skills.
o Works under limited supervision.
o Works well with multiple regions and multiple cultures.
Preferred Requirements & Skills:
o Masters Degree or PhD in Engineering is preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
