Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will have responsibility for in vivo pharmacology experiments with mice and rats including dosing, plasma/serum collection, peripheral blood monocyte isolation, various muscles harvest and processing for analysis. He/she must have proven record of experimental use of various cellular and molecular biology techniques (assessing mRNA levels from tissues and cultured cells, Western blotting, and sterile tissue-cell culture techniques), strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to work in team-oriented environment. The candidate will participate in ongoing research projects and support initiation of new drug discovery research efforts. The applicant must be able to multi-task, must be highly self-motivated worker capable of conducting detailed research protocols without constant supervision.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors/Masters degree in cell or molecular biology or a closely related field.
Must have minimum 2 years of laboratory research experience in the pharmaceutical industry or academia.
Demonstrated expertise with animal handling, cell culture, signal transduction, molecular biology and protein biochemical techniques is required.
Ability to perform ex vivo studies with primary cells from metabolically relevant tissues such as muscle.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.Eli Lilly and Company does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status(e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Experience and willingness to work with radioisotopes, chemical, and biological hazards.
Proven ability to work in flexible, team-oriented environment.
Experience in metabolic, inflammation, and/or kinase signal transduction research is preferred.
Prior experience in novel target identification is useful
Oral/written communication skills in English are essential.
Strong relationship-building and interaction skills with peers and management.
Additional Information:
Flexible scheduling is a requirement.
The position is full-time (40 hrs/wk), but not all regularly scheduled work hours will occur Mon-Fri from 8 AM-4:45 PM.
There is a requirement to work after-hours or on weekends on occasion.
The position level will be commensurate with the candidates experience.
The position is governed by regulations including OSHA, AAALAC, OLAW and NRC compliance to all applicable regulations is mandatory.
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of up to 4 years.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
