In Person only Description:
Serve as a Teaching Assistant in the Education Department at a juvenile correctional facility.
Supervise students in the classroom in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Responsibilities include Attendance Taking, Behavior Monitoring, Assignment Monitoring, and Daily Record Monitoring.
Provide guidance to students in completing assignments and support classroom instruction.
Effectively manage the classroom.
Participate in faculty and professional meetings.
Report directly to the School Principal and perform duties with minimal supervision.
Follow policy in critical incidents preventing injury, escape, or property damage.
Maintain confidentiality.
Supervise the daily work of students and evaluate individual student knowledge.
Operate all job-related equipment.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance the learning environment.
Provide written reports and participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams.
Attend and successfully complete all required training and certifications.
Develop and review clear, accurate, and concise reports in compliance with policies and procedures.
Promote good working relationships with students, staff, contractual personnel, interns, volunteers, and community agencies.
Maintain a positive image in all related responsibilities.
Implement daily and weekly teacher lesson plans to enforce full course objectives.
Create a positive learning environment supportive of student growth and development.
Maintain and control educational department supplies, equipment, and tools.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Work effectively in a teamwork environment.
Accept supervision and constructive feedback.
Test negative on all drug tests.
Successfully complete all required training and certifications.
Required
Qualifications:
HS diploma, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, ability to implement lesson plans, substitute teaching permit, experience working with students in an educational setting.
