This is a unique opportunity for an exceptional people leader and businessperson, leading the operations for our two office locations.

The MDA portfolio concentrates on animal healthcare and related fields.
Our focus is large specialty and emergency animal hospitals, complete with surgery, ophthalmology, CT, MRI, and radiation oncology suites.
We deliver specialized animal hospital design with complexities and services to rival human medicine.

The Role:
The Director of People Operations role requires a combination of strategic vision, operational expertise, and strong leadership capabilities.
You will be exceptional at establishing and nourishing relationships with managers and staff at all levels of the organization to ensure the effective definition and administration of all operations and HR-related functions.
You will coach leaders, recommend, and implement process improvements, propose and execute innovative solutions, and implement change across our two locations.
This role requires broad business experience, good organizational skills, and deep creativity as MDA is a unique work environment - a non-traditional design studio made up of professionals working together to serve a healthy pipeline of organic growth in an exciting and expanding market.
People Leadership:
Provide strong leadership to the operational teams, fostering a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Coach and develop people managers who own cross-functional design teams.
Establish individual goals with people managers and conduct regular one-on-one meetings to track progress.
Establish Key Performance Indicators and manage the performance of people managers.
Make organizational change recommendations to align individuals with their strengths and career ambitions while protecting the momentum of operations.
Understand demand and workload across teams and make recommendations as to optimal team size and necessary training plans.
Collaborate with company leadership on culture, employee relations, talent management, and workplace safety.
Enable an exceptional employee experience during moments that matter throughout the employee life cycle e.

Contribute towards a culture of inclusion which celebrates our employee diversity and promotes employee belonging.
Communications:
Own responsibility for company-wide communications and employee engagement.
Coordinate closely with Senior Management across both locations (Indianapolis, Indiana, and Seattle, Washington) to ensure communications are consistent and efficient.
Establish professional standards of practice for company communications, including internal meetings, collaboration tool use, and process change.
Lead all-hands meetings, publish minutes, and coordinate follow-up on action items.
Internal Project Management:
Organize and oversee portfolio of internal projects and process improvement initiatives.
Manage strategic roadmap of active and planned internal projects, communicate project status, and make recommendations.
Quality:
Establish quality standards and develop quality metrics to ensure our work meets or exceeds customer expectations and is trending towards continuous improvement.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficient operational processes.
Training:
Establish and manage a formal training program for each career path within the company.
Using quality metrics, identify specific training needs and recommend appropriate remediation and development.
Build consistency in training materials, developing a library of learning assets.
Experience &
Qualifications:
5-10 years post-college experience within a professional services environment 3
years of progressive experience in at least one of the following:
strategy development and implementation, operations management, or organization design and implementation Strong leadership, problem solving, staff development, and project management skills Demonstrated record of success facilitating progressive, incremental change and the development of innovative business functions and programs Proficient in MS Office Suite Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal Experience working in a matrix organization with the ability to manage multiple priorities across various stakeholders and departments Comfortable in a matrixed organization that is both consensus and mission-driven Personable, reliable, and professional Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$95,000.
