The purpose of this position is to complete the daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse functions at our Indianapolis, IN location.
This position will ensure all product shipments and receipts are processed accurately and timely in accordance with stated shipping instructions and facilitate the flow of all stocked inventory into the warehouse and out to customer locations.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Support the shipment of goods and the receipt of product destined for sale to our customer base.
Responsible to make arrangements for pick-up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order which is delivered via the shipping instructions on the sales order.
Complete incoming and outgoing shipping activities of all products ensuring accuracy, completeness, and safe condition of shipments.
Ensure that sufficient packaging/crating is utilized for all shipments to reasonably ensure goods arrive undamaged to their destination.
This may mean creating custom crating on occasion when necessary.
Responsible for all shipping and receiving functions within the ERP software, and ensuring any discrepancies and deviations are properly noted and resolved.
Will be required to use the forklift or other equipment to load and unload heavy shipments.
Maintain accurate inventory record keeping practices together with Finance and Vending teams.
Perform routine cycle counts and inventory maintenance.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone and e-mail with home office staff, salespeople, and customers in a positive manner.
Make occasional deliveries or pickups to customers in the company van.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements High school diploma or GED Valid Indiana Driver's License Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Ability to work independently and as a team Strong attention to detail Forklift operating experience a plus Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office products Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 70 pounds Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time Work Hours:
