Customs and Border Protection (CBP), at the CBP Hiring Center located in Bloomington, MN or Indianapolis, IN.
This position is not remote; the selectee will be expected to live within the local commuting area of either Bloomington, MN or Indianapolis, IN.
Duties If selected, you will:
Provide evaluative and analytical support to the HR recruitment and placement process.
Serve as a staffing specialist trainee, developing the fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide a full range of employment advisory and operational services to enhance CBP mission critical human capital activity.
Make recommendations on a wide range of staffing authorities and special employment programs to meet the agencies staffing goals.
Apply qualification standards and ranking methods to evaluate applicants experience, training, and education.
Utilize various HR information systems/tools to complete and track workload.
Identify, evaluate, and recommend to management appropriate human resources interventions to resolve complex interrelated human resources problems and issues.
Salary and Benefits This position starts at a salary of $46,696.
00(GS-07, Step 1) to $74,250.
00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $107,680(GS-12 Step 10).

Qualifications This opportunity is open to Recent Graduates who have completed, within the previous two (2) years, or will complete within two (2) months of the closing date of this announcement, a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution; Veterans who were unable to apply within two (2) years of receiving their degree due to military service obligation, but are within six (6) years from the date on which the requirements for their degree/academic course of study were completed.
This is a Recent Graduate appointment in the Pathways Program.
Selected individuals are placed in a dynamic one-year development program in the excepted service designed to lead to a competitive civil service career in the Federal government.
At the successful conclusion of this program, the agency may non-competitively convert individuals to a term (position lasting 1-4 years with an extension up to 120 days) or permanent position within the competitive service.
Conversion to a Federal competitive service position will be at the discretion of the agency and is neither guaranteed nor implied.
