The position is designed to facilitate patient flow through primary and long-term care practices and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.
Job Description - The Medical Scribe assists the medical provider by recording details of the exam into the medical record, and coordinating departmental resources regarding tests, orders, and results.
Performs clerical and information technology functions for providers in the nursing home setting, including primary responsibility for the operation of the electronic health records.
The primary goal of this job is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the provider.
Helps by mediating communication about residents between facility staff and the provider.
Maintains a schedule of patient visits, sends out progress notes, and rounds with physician for required physician visits.
Necessary skills Must be able to anticipate provider needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic.
Must be discreet and tactful in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
Always represent Pike Medical Consultants in a positive manner.
Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important.
Must be adaptable and versatile.
Must be detail oriented and can multi-task.
Candidates must have a baseline knowledge of medical terminology and must have proficient computer skills.
Previous use of EMR (electronic medical records) preferred.
Good attendance is an important element of this job.

Qualifications:
Interest in the Medical Field, preferably pre-Med, Medical School or PA track, or other healthcare related field.
A focus on patient care and excellent communication skills is a must.
Demonstrated basic computer skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
Active driver's license and reliable transportation.
