IU Methodist's A5North is a 23-bed inpatient neuro trauma surgical unit highly specialized in taking care of patients who experience significant brain and spinal cord trauma.
A5North staff are trained in treating very complex multi-system involvement type patients with a significant focus on patient rehabilitation after a significant neurological impairment.
The IU Health Methodist Neurosurgical program consistently ranks as one of the top 50 Neurosurgical programs in the country, and works with an outstanding team of Neurosurgeons and Neurologists.
Common diagnoses treated include brain and spinal cord trauma, stroke, neurological tumors, hemorrhages of the brain, and seizures.

Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
