Job Description:
This guidance outlines responsibilities for this role, though may not be all-inclusive.
Each jurisdiction should structure the role to best support needs within the jurisdiction to support the AR Program as a whole, taking into consideration new funding and expansion of testing under SHARP grant.
Depending on jurisdiction needs, this position may be part time or full time and can support other laboratory activities and outreach outside the HAI/AR program.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lab/Epi Coordination Understand ongoing and emerging epidemiology and laboratory needs related to the AR Program Facilitate communication between the laboratory and epidemiology staffs Understand data management and reporting to CDC and submitters, facilitating as needed Work closely with laboratory staff and jurisdictional HAI/AR epidemiologists to:
recruit and coordinate logistics of sample submissions and testing,ensure high quality data gathered upon submission, and use data to guide response and prevention activities, using elements and guidance provided by CDC.
Clinical Lab Outreach Work to improve clinical lab participation in the AR Lab Network Work with clinical labs to ensure high quality submissions, including complete and accurate data Develop communication strategies to engage with new and existing clinical lab partners Information to help support submissions Aggregate data reports or other summaries that entice participation in the network Ensure accurate and timely results reporting back to submitters Skill Matrix Skill Required /Desired Amount of Experience Strong Microsoft office skills, to include Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
Required 0 Prior experience in epidemiology & laboratory related to antimicrobial resistance (AR).
Highly desired 0 Prior experience working as a coordinator in a newly developing program.
Highly desired 0 Prior experience facilitating communication between laboratory and epidemiology staff.
Highly desired 0 Prior experience with data management and reporting to CDC, to include gathering and reporting data.
Highly desired 0 Associate's degree in science related or public health field.
