Category Manager
The Position Job Summary In this function, you are accountable for supporting the development of Category strategies and leading savings initiatives in the Chapter Materials and R&D Integration within Global Procurement of Roche Diabetes Care. You will own a Category or Sub-Category and will support other categories in close alignment with the Chapter Leader and other Category Managers. This includes without limitation sub-supplier (risk) management and component sourcing paired with state-of-the-art stakeholder communication. You are responsible for proactively identifying opportunities, engaging and partnering with business stakeholders, and managing defined (sub-) suppliers to secure delivering the overall category performance and ambitious savings targets. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions. What You Do You have deep expertise in supporting the realization of procurement targets, including delivery of high value sourcing, demand management, process re-engineering, claims management, and supplier performance and innovation activities. Through the rigorous application of procurement techniques and partnering with local and global Diabetes Care Procurement as well as business stakeholders, you deliver significant business value and procurement impact. In addition, you are accountable for the effective management of the category as well as cross-functional team members and stakeholders using the Roche Diabetes Care category management approach to ensure this knowledge is shared and embedded to drive performance. This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of a formalized category strategy, category buying guides, and the overall delivery of high value savings targets. You are responsible for building and maintaining business partner relationships with senior business stakeholders and act as a commercial key point of contact for category activities. You draft, negotiate, close and track & trace supplier contracts and support international contracts Additionally you use strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to ensure stakeholder alignment and support to deliver the implementation of the category strategy and initiatives. You ensure delivery of reporting input and accurate reporting of measures and targets for the category (e.g. operational metrics, savings). Who You Are University degree, with Business, Supply Chain, Business Engineering or Life Sciences degree preferable. Business level fluency in English. Good communication and project management skills with an ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a truly global, fluid, interactive environment 4
years in-depth strategic and operational procurement experience Preferred You have successfully completed your studies in business administration, industrial engineering or supply chain You have in-depth tactical/strategic and operational procurement experience with advanced knowledge of category and commodity management, advanced strategic sourcing as well as SRM You have proven capabilities in negotiation (commercial as well as contractual), conflict resolution and stakeholder management as well as financial and business acumen You have been working within a regulated industry for regulated categories with familiarity of relevant legal risks and issues for many years You have successfully demonstrated experience in managing local or regional or global cross-functional project teams Change management and continuous process improvements is key to you You are experienced in procurement of either Print & Pack materials, Carry Cases, Kitting Services, chemicals or electronic components (preferred) You have demonstrated your proficiencies in procurement specific systems and processes for efficient management of sourcing events and contract negotiations Willingness to travel (air and ground both domestic and internationally) for up to 25% of time for various meetings at Roche and supplier sites
