The Opportunity Directs the design, documentation, testing and implementation of data collection studies, and database review. Collaborates and coordinates with others to design and implement protocols and data collection systems. Develops systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report data and trends. Manages data management issues by reviewing protocols for cross-project consistency and identifying standard case report form modules to meet objectives. Develops data quality plans. Provides early strategic input into protocol design focused on data management issues. Reviews and resolves data discrepancies for standardized data validation systems and procedures. May also be responsible for projects that have been contracted with contract research organizations, as well as internal projects. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Job Facts Oversees all aspects of team's daily Data Science responsibilities including setting priorities, managing workload and meeting deadlines Collaborates with departmental leadership to establish, refine and execute strategic roadmap for data science program expansion within Roche Diagnostics Corporation Builds relationships with stakeholders, effectively communicates to them and engages with them to deliver insights Provides the necessary team coaching required to deliver Data Science solutions which are aligned with key organizational objectives Ensures team adheres to established department process procedures and is engaged in developing new ones Develops a rapidly growing team's capabilities and structure and manages workload to best support business needs Builds a culture that encourages development, inclusion, recognition, innovation and feedback Provides technical contributions where appropriate to achieve data science project goals Leads team with a high level of change agility by quickly accepting change and driving it in a positive manner Adheres to all standard processes defined within role, team, and department. Embraces Agile methodologies and tools including but not limited to PDCAs, documentation management, and visual management. Builds strong collaborative relationships with peers that includes timely feedback and communication to gain alignment Who you are:
Bachelor degree and 5 years of experience required Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree 2 years of leadership experience Preferred Requirements:
Ideal candidate will be passionate about both leadership and the application of data science to drive insights and value within a business-centric environment Previous data management or project management experience Demonstrated understanding of data science principles and applications Solution-oriented and agile approach to solving business problems Extensive stakeholder management and technical leadership experience Applied understanding of key technologies including, but not limited to, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, and R Strong problem solving and consistent decision making skills Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly relating to conveying technical information to senior leadership Ability to collaborate with executive leadership and provide effective, enterprise-wide solutions Displays strong business acumen related to RDC sales and service organizations Indianapolis-area candidates preferred Travel to Indianapolis campus may be required up to four times per month to fulfill role responsibilities For Colorado-based applicants, the expected salary range for this position is $110,000-$165,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits listed below.
