We are looking for a Compliance Auditor to join our team at the corporate office. This position is an entry level position within our Compliance department. It's an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Property Manager who has affordable experience.
Position Overview
The Compliance Auditor reports to the Compliance Program Administrator and is primarily responsible for property audits, including section 8, section 42, and Safe Harbor. In addition, performing due diligence file audit support for acquisitions.
Essential Job Functions - The individual must be able to perform the following tasks:
Monitor the review schedules as provided by HUD or Contract Administrator and contacts property to coordinate preparation for upcoming Management and Occupancy Review (MOR), including but not limited to file audits prior to the MOR.
Notify the Compliance Program Administrator if substantial problems are found during preparation period with property.
Perform file audits six months after MOR to ensure compliance with MOR response and to ensure that deficiencies identified have been properly addressed.
Perform Compliance Quality Control Reviews for Section 42 properties.
Maintain initial compliance period records in permanent storage for each Safe Harbor program property.
Perform Compliance Quality Control Reviews for Safe Harbor properties once initial compliance period percentages have been obtained.
Perform due diligence file audit support for acquisitions.
Provide backup phone/email support/clarification for matters relating to HUD/Affordable compliance, HUD regulations in the HUD 4350.3 Handbook and company subsidy/affordable policies.
Complete all administrative tasks, as requested by the Compliance Program Administrator.
Perform other property liaison functions as requested by the Compliance Manager.
Develop and revise forms and procedures as directed by the Compliance Manager.
Attends seminars and training sessions to keep current on subsidy regulations as related to compliance.
Requirements
Equivalent combination of training or education to the high school degree level
2 years of progressively responsible experience in subsidized property management with knowledge of HUD programs is preferred.
Knowledge of HUD programs (Section 8, Section 236 and Section 42)
Demonstrated proficiency with desk top computers, a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of software, and the ability to use a broad range of job-related software including presentations applications.
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
