Responsibilities:
The dedicated business unit IT groups overarching role is to be the link from the business units to the IT central organization and is specifically be charged with:
Maximizing value by driving continuous improvement and utilization of information with existing assets and capabilities
Identifying opportunities for information to drive high business value
Ensuring fit for purpose of IT assets by maintaining a 3-5 year view of strategic and architectural information needs
Ensuring sustainability of the overall IT operating model and capability
The function of the group, overall, is primarily one of account management and value assurance. Work will be accomplished in alignment with the broader IT enterprise and application services goals. This position reports to the Director, IT; Lilly Diabetes .
This particular Diabetes IT Consultant position is accountable for supporting Lilly Diabetes by ensuring reliable delivery of IT capabilities that enable the US Sales Force launches. The incumbent will be responsible for account management with Diabetes sales operations, the hosted BioMeds sales services groups, and others. Success requires that the Consultant be knowledgeable about business unit sales strategies, aligns to launch priorities and processes, and is able to synchronize IT opportunities and issues with those business needs.
Apply strong account management skills and knowledge of sales priorities and processes for credibility with diabetes leaders, hosted BioMedicines business and IT functions.
Ensure appropriate risk assessments and reviews with relevant quality, compliance, privacy, security and other US groups.
Support Diabetes US sales activities by leveraging existing data, information technologies and services from Business Unit IT to enable market access, sales force product knowledge, product launches, and other sales processes.
Lead sales IT business case development through IT governance and on to value realization, enabling assignment of IT resources to highest priority and value efforts.
Champion novel use of technology and data to optimize launches, consistent with Diabetes sales strategies.
Bring process refinement skills to bear.
Coordinate sales IT work in the US for the Boehringer Ingelheim alliance, serving as the US Sales Market Lead, and operating consistently with Alliance governance, processes, and sanctioned technology enablers.
Liaise with US payer organizations and integrated health systems groups at Lilly for IT support to improve market access for Diabetes products.
Influence US sales strategies and roadmaps to reflect relevant, emerging information technologies.
Partner with Architecture, IT capabilities groups, business leaders, Six Sigma and others to yield Diabetes sales IT launch strategies and roadmaps.
Collaborate with solution services on application development and delivery, executing dedicated team activities consistent with the IT operating model.
Identify solution services applications and solutions which support key sales processes, and drive opportunities for application rationalization and/or process consolidation.
Monitor IT delivery to ensure there are no project or service gaps related to sales enablement of upcoming Diabetes product launches.
Drive resolution of unacceptable architectural, quality, information security, compliance and funding risks in the Diabetes US sales IT portfolio.
Participate in and drive assessments, business development details, and 6 sigma projects, as appropriate.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
At least five years of professional IT experience working directly with business groups, with at least three years with sales and marketing organizations and processes
Experience with developing and successfully selling business cases for IT investment to business leaders
Experience launching at least three products to the market, including interaction with a distributed sales force
At least two years experience delivering IT to enable external partnerships and business alliances
Experience with the development and delivery of 3 year technology strategies
