Family Support Specialists provide resources, education, and support beginning during pregnancy and lasting through a child's third birthday.
Essential Duties:
Provide services to families both in-home and virtually.
Provide education to families on parenting, child development, discipline, etc.
Conduct developmental screenings on babies at specified intervals.
Support families with referrals (employment, housing, etc.
).
Complete documentation, filing, and data entry on all client activities.
Maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrate ability to be non-judgmental and accepting of individual differences and diverse populations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies or related field preferred.
Previous work with families and children (0 - 3 years of age).
Must have valid Indiana Driver's License, access to working vehicle, and current automobile insurance.
Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Haitian Creole, Arabic, French, or other languages Work Environment:
Work environment varies between in office, in home, and in the field.
Flexible scheduling options (Monday - Friday).
May be exposed to substandard and unsanitary living conditions.
May be exposed to allergens of all types (i.
e.
pets, dust, smoke, etc.
).
