DESCRIPTIONMichael Baker International is seeking to hire a Full-Time Technical Manager - Highway to be a part of our growing Indianapolis, IN team.
As the Technical Manager- Highway, you will work directly under the supervision of the department manager and focus on delivering transportation projects for wide variety of clients including INDOT.
In this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise with project delivery for these clients.
This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment depending on client requirements.
As the Technical Manager- Highway, you will provide engineering design and oversight in the successful delivery of transportation and public works projects throughout Indiana as well as leading and mentoring project teams in design and plan preparation for roadway, highway, and freeway projects for INDOT and other agencies.
This position may also support projects in other states.
RESPONSIBILITIES Managing a wide variety of complex roadway related projects Having a broad understanding of Highway/roadway design, including roadway elements, hydrology and hydraulics, structures, and traffic-related items Coordinating plan production for highway projects Directing, coordinating, and reviewing work performed by internal staff and subconsultant design teams Mentoring, training and growing staff in the performance of job duties Working with a team of engineers and planners to develop strategies and teaming arrangements to pursue projects Assisting in developing pursuit capture plans and presentations Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel on specific tasks Satisfy project requirements by ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met Stays knowledgeable of trends and current development within their specific technical areas Assists managers with departmental business development goals Performs detailed technical peer reviews, technical analyses, calculations, and tasks as needed.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field required.
Professional Engineer (P.
E.
) license in the State of Indiana required.

years of progressively responsible experience working on roadway design projects (INDOT projects preferred) Demonstrated experience in the management of transportation projects and programs with a successful history of delivery Knowledge of work related to delivering transportation project for INDOT, and other Local Agencies.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment Ability to work independently and within a team setting to support related projects and assignments Ability to mentor engineering staff Strong client relationships and the ability to participate in business development and proposal preparation is desired Participation in industry related professional societies is encouraged COMPENSATIONThe approximate compensation range for this position is $100,942- $157,643 per year.
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
