Department SupervisorGENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for using computer software programs to operate all merge conveyors, providing a steady flow of product to the loading dock, and maintaining wave integrity ensuring proper load sequence and minimizing out-of-sequence cases.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
Start and stop conveyor lines, controlling the flow of product.
Monitor and report (for each loading door) the percentage of line capacity that is diverted or aborted.
Monitor outlying conveyor lines to ensure each department is selecting proper wave numbers and keeping up with the rest of the operation.
Monitor software alarms for jams, motor overloads and stoppages.
Clear jams.
Work closely with loading dock management teams.
Understand the selection and loading process.
Coordinate breaks, lunches, and trailer changes.
Comply effectively with company work and safety rules.
Continually meet assigned production standards.
Maintain a quality of work that limits mis picks, shorts, and damages.
Work independently and in a team environment.
Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment.
Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Distribution Center; work schedules may require working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, and weekend work depending on the customer and operational requirements of the division.
Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products that may be ordered by our customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires the teammate to stand for long periods of time at a computer monitor and at high heights.
The environment encompasses all areas of a Distribution Center and material movement takes place throughout the facility.
This position requires the teammate to work inside the majority of the time.
This position may require working in hot and cold temperature extremes, exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmful chemicals, solvents, and components, and working in close to proximity to other teammates.
Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
This position requires the teammate to work in warm and cold temperature conditions that may range from 38 F to 110 F This position requires the teammate to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, and reach above the head continuously for a period of two hours or more.
