Production Supervisor (2nd shift)

Food processing & packaging facility in Greater Indianapolis helps people all over the country live longer, healthier, & happy lives with the products they produce.
A global consumer packaged foods company, that offers branded, licensed, and private label products, seeks a Servant Minded Leader in a Production Supervisor role.
The Production Supervisor (Dry Ingredients) directly supervises and coordinates the activities of production and operating workers, such as packers, machine operators, and blenders.
The Supervisor will be responsible for establishing and achieving production goals, fostering relationships, promoting Health and Safety and the development of a well-trained and motivated staff.
Responsibilities:
Utilizes, and enforce, all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
Develops and motivates team (packers, machine operators, and blenders) to solve own day-to-day operational issues and achieve plant goals through ongoing communication and facilitation of team meetings.
Coordinates daily inventories and supplies and other operational activities within or between departments.
Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Conducts employee training in equipment operations and work and safety procedures or assigns employee training to experienced workers.
Counsel employees about work-related issues and assists employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
Initiates and drives process improvements.
Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluates current production estimates and outputs.
Document all records outlined by company policies, such as production records, HACCP, good manufacturing policies, standard operating procedures, and food safety and quality plans.
Oversees and completes production documentation, support documentation, and process control documentation throughout the facility.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or chemical) or Bachelor's Degree in Management (Manufacturing or Operations).
Minimum of five years' experience in Production Supervision and w/in a Food or Beverage Processing/Packaging plant Demonstrates essential problem-solving methods and initiative Ability to perform under pressure and to solve problems independently
