V2X Aerospace Solutions is seeking a Senior Obsolescence Engineer to join our Systems Engineering department in Indianapolis, IN.
The experienced Obsolescence and Life Cycle Management Engineer is needed to provide support on DoD programs.
Responsibilities include:
Create Lifecycle Forecasts Obsolescence Tracking and Recommendations on Applicable Replacements Support component obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Supply and Material Shortages activities for existing products Analyze maintenance capability and provide recommendations regarding maintenance, planning, analysis, and management for establishment of Government capability Incorporate recommendations into maintenance products such as developing and establishing new technical data, technical manuals, inspection requirements, and maintenance procedures for each level of maintenance.
Conduct maintenance task and supportability analysis to identify all test, support, ground handling, calibration equipment, and fixtures needed to establish organic intermediate and depot level maintenance capability Recommend procurement plans and provide the logistics services needed to provide equipment at the appropriate maintenance level Interface with the engineering team to explore manufacturing and acquisition alternatives that minimize obsolescence impacts for systems supported.
Provide expert predictive obsolescence research, mitigation solutions, technical analysis, and engineering recommendations with specialization in reverse engineering, hardware design/integration recommendations, and material qualifications for various programs.
Facilitate identification and analysis of sustainment and supply chain issues associated with complex aviation platforms and associated support systems; generate and report obsolescence metrics.
Interface with part and component manufacturers to verify and validate OEM part numbers, qualified manufacturers, qualified manufacturer part numbers, part number availability, alternate part numbers (and sources), and NSN's for all electronic parts, COTS items, and other components.
Generate requirements, specifications, and verification/validation procedures for electronic components through the tear-down of the supported weapon systems.
Prepare reports to management and customers on system requirements and sustainment findings.
Perform quarterly system health assessments that explain research and analysis across NAVY programs to address cost, schedule, and technical risks associated with obsolescence.
Provide analysis of vendor pricing and availability data and provide proposed solutions regarding the health status of equipment being analyzed for obsolescence redesign.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of related Lifecycle/obsolescence management experience Review spare and equipment depletion analysis to provide specific recommendations for spare/repair parts and support equipment positioning.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present technical data and analysis results Good communication and analytical skills Ability to make decisions with minimal guidance Ability to understand technical requirements, their impact on Logistics elements, and provide recommendations on complex programs Working knowledge of SAP, Haystack, MAXIMO Must be proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint Demonstrated presentation skills to management to include program status and program reviews for both internal and external customers U.

12 years of Government Lifecycle/obsolescence experience could be substituted for a degree Recommended Skills Aerospace Industries Analytical Aviation Calibration Communication Forecasting Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
