This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.
SCOPE:
The Production Operator position provides leadership of all assigned personnel in assigned area of the manufacturing plant.
Capable of efficiently operating all product line machines on all lines in the department.
Facilitates communication between front and back of line to ensure productivity metrics are met and maintains documentation with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Promotes safety amongst team and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times; Complies with all food manufacturing and safety regulations.
Utilizes all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
Able to run all product line machines in the department, provide machine operator coverage in case of absences Communicates with Production Supervisor/Operations Manager to define daily work schedules that minimize overtime and reduce labor costs Provides leadership and guidance to all staff for continual improvement of key functions and activities to improve efficiency and meet increasing customer and business demands.
Maintains professional, helpful attitude in dealings with co-workers, supervisors, and their departmental personnel at all times Inspects products for defects, and measure products to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments.
Observes correction of machine malfunctions, and assists in adjusting machines, within tolerances, as necessary.
Accurately records all downtime for proper production calculations Reads job orders to determine product specifications to plan operational sequences.
Makes minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and notify supervisor/ maintenance when major service is required.
Starts up, shuts down, and completes product change overs on all manufacturing equipment following SOPs.
Maintains and completes documentation of permanent records for the company and its customers with a high degree of neatness and accuracy.
Demonstrates essential problem solving methods and initiative.
Complies with all food manufacturing and safety regulations.
Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other company employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions Must possess visual acuity to document company records Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing
Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have ability to understand oral and written instructions in English Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills Must have good job performance and attendance records Prior supervisory or team lead experience is preferred Job Type:
