Flexo/Offset Printing Manager

Printing company is interviewing for a full-time Printing Manager who will be responsible for managing and directly supervising the pre-press, offset and flexo printing departments on day shift. You could be called into the plant on nights or weekends if there is a problem so candidates need to be flexible.
Job Responsibilites:
Organize each production activity and service to operate at top efficiency with proper staffing, based on work load and budget
Oversee and participate in training and development of all associates within the printing operation
Develop, implement and maintain departmental procedures
Maintain and improve quality standards to meet physical and mechanical specifications on customers orders
Maintain effective labor relations and safety program. Promote company policies to all associates
Determine current and future needs, initiating requests for additional equipment
Minimize spoilage with an effective waste control program
Exercise effective cost control
Keep abreast of new technical developments. Install methods that may improve quality of production
Conducts regular on time performance appraisals for all team members.
Develops goals, action plans, and time tables for direct reports.
Education or Equivalent:
5 years of management experience in manufacturing plant, pharmaceutical printing preferred.
Excellent knowledge of all facets of print production: press, bindery and graphics.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Customer focused proven ability to provide consistent high quality support.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Must demonstrate good judgment with the ability to make quick, sound decisions.
Excellent written, verbal and listening skills.
A creative thinker with strong problem solving skills.
Requires good organization and record keeping skills.
Strong time management skills are necessary with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with Microsoft office software required.
