Description:
Assist and provide legal support and administration to Corporate Counsel in all stages of corporate transactions and with the preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulations in the conduct of business activities.
Duties:
Follow the Code of Ethics and Disciplinary Rules as set forth by the Indiana Paralegal Association.
Draft legal and non-legal documents when necessary.
Review and redline legal documents, and provide legal analysis and advise to Heritage personnel on contract terms and conditions.
Maintain and organize files, client lists, docketing calendars, corporate documents or other databases as required.
Conduct legal research to identify the appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other materials that are relevant to assigned cases.
Manages contract database, which is used to track and analyze every contract. Organize all contracts and related documents. Ensure that database system functions properly.
Act in liaison with management throughout the company hierarchy to gather and analyze data on company sourcing strategy. Recommends new trends in sourcing and procedure.
May act as liaison between company and subcontractors.
Negotiates contact with customer or bidder.
Provide leadership for the contracts administration, compliance and database function.
Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, be very detailed oriented, have strong organizational and time management skills.
Perform necessary administrative duties to assist the Corporate Counsel.

Qualifications:
Education: JD required
Experience: At least 2 years of related experience. Advance knowledge of contract law preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities: Must be detail oriented with excellent oral and written communications skills. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with staff at all levels within the organization, as well as clients. Excellent judgment and decision-making skills and must be able to manage multiple projects. Confidentiality. Strong Microsoft Office program knowledge and personal computer experience required. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80%25%20of the work time when evaluating legal matters. Willingness to travel. Ability to work autonomously.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
