Provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis on all cost related activities for the Indianapolis manufacturing plant. Participate in the month end and year end closing process as required
Month End Close - Prepare journal entries to reconcile ending inventories, complete corn accounting, report starch and co product yields, complete utility accruals, and ensure accuracy of plant maintenance work order system.
Capital/Fixed Assets - Perform financial review of new capital requests, close and capitalize projects in SAP, assist Engineering with project spending and tracking.
Annual Budget - assist Controller with preparation of annual plant budget, work with Westchester Cost Accounting on processing hours and allocations, and spread plant budget by cost center.
Standard Cost - Maintain established BOM's and routings and create new ones for new products in order to ensure accuracy of plant inventory valuations. Review BOM's on an annual basis ensuring proper cost allocations.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
3 - 5 years' experience, manufacturing a plus.
Demonstrated understanding of basic cost accounting concepts and theories used in the business environment.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to various levels within the organization as well as to external customers
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
