Responsibilities
The purpose of this new role will be to execute projects as part of the newly-developed Real World Evidence (RWE) capability within the US Medical Division (USMD). This new capability complements the developing RWE infrastructure within the Global Patient Outcomes and Real World Evidence (GPORWE) function. Through application of scientific training and relevant experience, the individual will contribute to the refinement of the USMD strategy for RWE and lead the planning, development, conduct and reporting of RWE research protocols in collaboration with USMD product teams
Study Development, Execution and Oversight (70%):
Understand product strategy/disease state and based on this, develop and execute RWE strategies for compounds/products across the development and commercialization lifecycle in collaboration with Therapeutic Area Teams and GPORWE
Identify available secondary data sources of relevance to RWE studies supporting compounds/products
Ensure compliance with relevant internal and external standards and policies as they apply to USMD RWE research, including the Medical Quality System (MQS) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICD) Good Clinical Practice (GCP) for medical research
As necessary, collaborate with Third Party Organizations (TPOs) for access to external data sources or analysis, ensuring appropriate governance and data protections are established
Organizational and Strategic Leadership (15%):
Contribute to USMD RWE business planning activities in the creation of a portfolio of research
Facilitate strong collaboration between USMD, GPORWE, and Global Brand Development
Monitor and understand the external environment and articulate future needs and priorities to USMD RWE Leadership
Building Internal USMD RWE capabilities (15%):
Become intimately familiar with existing internal capabilities including data sourcing, real world analytics, and RWE, Inc.
Monitor, assess, and contribute to refining the USMD RWE strategy so that it complements and enhances existing infrastructure and other related functions
Grow USMD RWE capabilities by contributing to the development of an educational plan for USMD Clinical Research Physicians/Scientists
Basic Qualifications
MD/PhD/PharmD OR MPH/MA/MS with relevant experience
Experience conducting observational or RWE research, with clear understanding of RWE as it relates to the clinical application of medicine
Competent in the independent analysis of data from clinical and epidemiology studies
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of SAS, SPSS, Epi Info, R and/or equivalent statistical packages
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a team-oriented/cross-functional environment
Additional Skills/Preferences
Therapeutic/functional expertise in any, or all, of the following:
Neuroscience, Aging, Autoimmune, Musculoskeletal, Mens Health, Cardiovascular, Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology
Familiarity with observational/RWE data resources
Trained in ICH GCP
Publications in clinically-orientated journals

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
