Responsibilities
Technical Ability:
The Bioprocess Operator must be able to operate/monitor process equipment and related systems in accordance with approved Batch Records and procedures.
Good aseptic technique and mechanical skills are essential.
In addition, they must be willing to accept new assignments, projects and challenges as assigned by supervision, are capable of troubleshooting technical issues as they occur and identify trends and ways to reduce process variability.
Being self-motivated is crucial.
Data Management/Compliance:
The Bioprocess Operator must exhibit a high level of attention to detail while maintaining cGMP compliance.
Accurate and legible records must be maintained and analyzed to provide detailed information on the status of media preparations.
Communication Skills, Oral and Written:
This position may require interaction with, but not limited to; Developmental Quality Team members, Bio product Research and Development scientists, Analytical Services, Technical Services Representatives, Maintenance personnel, and fellow Pilot Plant Operations members.
Safety and Environmental Awareness:
Bioprocess Operator shall be expected to adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines and to promote safety and environmental compliance in all areas.
Multitasking:
The BR&D Pilot Plant is a multi-campaign facility, which performs pilot-scale GMP manufacturing of biotech API, including bioreactor and purification processes.
As such, the ability to handle and adapt to multiple issues and projects simultaneously is required.
Basic
Qualifications:
5
year experience in handling Microbial/Mammalian Cell Culture, including related aseptic techniques.
Strong cGMP experience in a Drug Product manufacturing environment.
Strong GDP skills.
One year of DDIA experience.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for these positions.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Experience with executing standard operating procedures, engineering protocols, deviation reports/investigations and analyzing process data.
Ability to manage and complete multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
Identify, initiate, and implement operational and organizational improvements.
Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
One year of Delta V control system operations experience.
Two year degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Microbiology (or related field
Two or more years of experience in the operation or support of large-scale GMP biotechnology production activities.
General interpersonal and communication skills; coaching, feedback, training, and fostering an environment for learning and open/honest communication.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of analytical equipment operation used for the in-process testing of the API process stream.
One year of Syncade related eLogs experience.
Additional Information:
This position is a twelve (12) hour, straight days, 3-2-2-3 schedule.
You will work every other weekend.
You will be expected to work overtime as needed to cover for vacations and illnesses.
