Responsibilities
The Associate Brand Manager Payer Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of customer-focused payer brand strategy and implementation of Lilly USA Marketing processes.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
The Associate Brand Manager of Payer Marketings responsibilities are listed below. An Associate Brand Manager of Marketing may not perform all of the tasks listed.
Brand Strategy Development (50%)
Customer Experience
Provide input and help to create the direction for a positive customer experience.
Recommend and monitor key insight(s) for brand in partnership with Lilly Market Research (LMR) and agencies.
Understand all customer insights and identify integration Moments of Truth (MOTs) and issues / opportunities.
Lead and/or participate in development of customer council required elements and materials.
Field Sales Personnel Relationships/Interactions
Develop vision and goals for sales force.
Create and gain appropriate approval for internal communications.
Manage all payer communications to the field sales and MHS Account Managers; payer strategy, logistics, point person for field employees (payer only).
Tactic Assessment / Message Management
Monitor performance of customer tactics via performance metrics determined by brand and agency.
Monitor messages, adjusting message / tactics, as needed.
Develop measurement plan for tactics in area of responsibility. (May partner with Analytics / LMR, as well as agency partners, to design and oversee implementation of the measurement plan).
Assess major tactics and devise acceleration or course corrections as needed, to achieve / exceed planned results.
Coordinate with message management team and attend key exhibits.
Brand Development (payer only)
Provide payer input to brand business plan including belief progressors, motivators, attitudes / beliefs and behaviors.
Monitor execution of payer portion of integrated final plan.
Recommend decisions on payer channel strategy.
Provide brand input to payer contract management and analytics
Manage daily payer negotiations.
Operations Support (30%)
Project Implementation
Manage tactical communication vehicles, track schedule and coordinate with other team associates.
Track and manage detailed budget for responsible tactics (MMS, accrual process, etc.).
Manage budget roll-up to brand budget owner.
Partner Relationship Management
Accountable for relationship with agency / external vendor partner, day-to-day relationship with business partners.
Patient Experience Programs
Oversee operations and performance of program(s) in areas of responsibility via metrics determined by brand and appropriate support functions.
Risk Management
Responsible for understanding, implementing, and adhering to company policies, processes and external obligations, as applicable.
Marketing and Medical Interaction
Key resource for team (both Lilly and agency members) on how clinical data impacts marketing messages.
Coordinate appropriately with The Lilly Answer Center (TLAC) to provide needed information.
Key contact and partner with Medical Information to develop appropriate Field Sales training.
Tactic Development
Prepare, Create, Approve : Responsible for deliverables, provide input on deliverable / project plans and on deliverable creation, verify appropriate functions have been consulted, ensure deliverables align with brand strategy, and escalate issues as needed.
Responsible for facilitating sales force brand champion input to the agency for tactics requiring sales force input.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
5 plus years of experience with pharmaceutical marketing
3 plus years of experience with US/Global health care reimbursement systems and/or Marketing/Market research expertise and/or appropriate blend of both skills

Deep disease-state expertise
Expertise with US affiliate marketing materials approval processes (PCA, FCAP)
Ability to use internal and external analysis to identify key areas of near and long-term opportunity for the brand
Strong project management skills
Strong contract administration and analytics experience
Understanding of attitudes, beliefs and behaviors of payer key players (payer only) Ability to work cross-functionally
Strong communication skills and ability to influence
Experience with agencies / external partner vendors
