Responsibilities:
Lilly's Musculoskeletal Research Team is seeking to add a talented Research Scientist to their team who will focus on bone anabolic pathways relevant to bone healing and/or osteoporosis.
Key Objectives and Deliverables:
Identify and pursue validated bone anabolic pathways to generate novel therapeutic agents that can be used to enhance bone healing and treat osteoporosis-related conditions.
Supervise a laboratory to incorporate cutting-edge cell and molecular biology approaches to explore the complex milieu during fracture healing.
Engage in development of relevant rodent animal models to better illustrate these cell and molecular biology approaches.
Integrate research across Bone, Muscle, Joint, Urology areas to address unmet Medical needs in the elderly to ultimately enhance Mobility.
Maintain a laboratory that remains compliant with rules and regulations as outlined by the good research practices at Lilly.
Basic
Qualifications:
PhD or MD degree
Adequate training and Post-Doctoral experience in musculoskeletal research with specific emphasis on bone anabolic pathways relevant to bone healing or osteoporosis
Must have at least five years biotech or pharma industry experience
Experience in supervising scientists on projects in an industry/biotech/academic setting
Evidence of pursuing research into novel signaling pathways relevant to enhancing mobility
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Proven credibility as an emerging leader among Bone and Muscle peers in various relevant scientific societies such that s/he can maintain a portal to the external academic community.
Preference will be given to individuals with 5
years of industry/biotech experience.
