Responsibilities:
The Procurement Consultant position provides the support for related outsourcing of goods and services purchased by Eli Lilly and Company. This position works closely with business partners to deliver on their objectives. In addition, it is essential to partner with key support functions such as legal, compliance, IT, finance, and quality within Eli Lilly and Company. This role is responsible for developing and executing category sourcing strategies for key outsourcing initiatives. This candidate will lead the sourcing process from strategy execution and supplier selection through contract negotiations, pricing negotiation, and participation in ongoing supplier relationship management.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Understanding of GMP
Minimum of 5 years of Procurement/Professional Sourcing experience, within the area of drug product manufacturing or API outsourcing and rotations within Procurement
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Previous Procurement experience preferred
Previous direct negotiation experience strongly preferred
Previous experience within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry
Procurement rotations which have demonstrated breadth in working in different areas in support of Procurement activities
Proven ability to influence business decisions at the network level and senior management (internally and externally)
Superior communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated project management skills and manage work independently
Understanding of the drug products manufacturing and GMP environment
Experience in managing third party relationships including selection, contracting and problem resolution skills
Proven skills in negotiating and understanding of commercial law/contract language
Ability to manage professional relationships between Lilly and suppliers
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
Proven problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills
Additional Information:
Travel Requirements: Some international and domestic travel (supplier visits and possible trade show attendance)
