Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for assisting and providing direct patient care to employees during emergencies, work-related injury and illnesses, health surveillance, personal health care and assistance with the Travelers Safety Program. The nurse will provide these
services
under the oversight of the site medical physicians and nurse practitioners.
Ability to provide appropriate direct care for employees with acute and chronic illness or work related illness or injury as needed.
Periodic assistance with the travel safety program for employees including assistance with immunizations and referrals to appropriate global internal and external providers and services as deemed necessary for employees to maintain their optimum health while traveling as needed.
Direct Patient Care 80%
Collaborate with physicians, internal and external to Lilly and other health care professionals as needed, including referrals
Maintain a thorough command of the scope and standing of departmental operating procedures
Consult with other medical and nursing staff on standing operating procedures, equipment and software
Assist with treatment of acute illnesses, infections and injuries
Assist with direct patient care using expertise to obtain accurate information regarding an employees complaints, treatment and follow-up.
Maintain professional standards for treatment of illnesses and injuries in case of medical emergency i.e. maintain yearly training or update of Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Educate employees on health behaviors, self-care skills, and other treatment options appropriate to their individual needs
Obtain medical histories
Administer medications safely and accurately with appropriate documentation in the patients electronic medical record.
Assist with health maintenance care for adults, including annual physicals.
Accurately captures and reviews the necessary data required to ensure the integrity of medical record and adherence to
indiana
State Nursing Practice Act.
Assist with treatment of occupational illnesses and injuries, follow-up care and appropriate documentation.
Assist with the companys wellness program
Assist with EHSs vaccine programs
Participates in implementing EHSs emergency response plan
Assistance with Travel Health 10%
Increased awareness of global travel needs and provide employees with the immunizations and appropriate care to support this program as prescribed by pharmacist or medical staff.
Quality Development of Staff 10%
Serve as a clinical resource for employees for wellness and lifestyle management in the prevention of chronic disease.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a topic of interest that is pertinent to departmental needs
Basic
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing
Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse
Minimum two years experience as an RN
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Previous experience in primary and occupational health care
Basic understanding of acute and chronic disease care Previous experience in ambulatory care
BLS and ACLS
Additional Information:
Locations may include Lilly Corporate Center, or Lilly Technology Center
Utilizes universal precautions in clinical practice, works with potential for biological exposures, including blood and body fluids.
Some environmental exposures such as chemical, allergens, noise and manufactured products
The hours are 7:30 - 4:15
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration for up to 4 years.
